Pemamek opens industrial machinery plant in Zaragoza

This operation will give the company the strength it needs to grow on the Iberian Peninsula and in Latin America.
Finnish manufacturer Pemamek Oy, which specialises in engineering and manufacturing welding machinery and production automation for heavy industries, inaugurated a new plant in Zaragoza on 1 October. This investment reinforces its expansion plans in the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
The factory is owned by Pemamek Iberia, a joint venture created in 2022 between Pemamek Oy and Arasol Industrial (Aragonesa de Soldadura), which had already been cooperating for a decade. The new facility will not only give the company greater capacity to provide sales and service support to its customers throughout the Iberian Peninsula, but will also play a key role in servicing other markets, such as Latin America.
Sustainable development of heavy industries
The CEO of Pemamek Oy, Juha Mäkitalo, is extremely proud “to inaugurate Pemamek Iberia's new facilities here in Zaragoza”, and explained, “This emphasises our commitment to driving innovation, both in the Spanish and Portuguese manufacturing industry and globally. Our aim is to offer advanced solutions that not only increase productivity, but also contribute to the sustainable development of heavy industries.”
The opening of its new production plant in Aragon puts Pemamek Iberia in an ideal position to gain market share in the Spanish industrial landscape. Traditionally, the company has worked to forge strong partnerships with its customers, whom it supplies with state-of-the-art welding automation solutions. It also provides local support and maintenance services to meet the needs of Spanish manufacturers.
Building lasting relationships
Peter Senz, Sales Director of Pemamek Iberia, highlights the enthusiasm for “continuing to build long-term relationships with our customers throughout the Iberian Peninsula,” adding, “These new facilities will allow us to better serve our customers and contribute to the future of heavy industries in Spain and Portugal”.
The inauguration was attended by company officials, institutional representatives and around 85 professionals from various industrial sectors, who had the opportunity to participate in various live demonstrations of robotic welding incorporating Pemamek's latest-generation automation technology.
