Swiss group SFS strengthens presence in Spanish construction market

It has acquired the Spanish company Etanco, with ten employees and four million euros in sales

The SFS Group, a specialist in building envelope construction systems, has acquired Etanco, a Spanish distributor of fasteners, fixings and accessories used in building envelopes. The transaction, effective from 1 May, will strengthen the position of the Swiss company's construction division in the building envelope sector in the Spanish and Portuguese markets.

Based in Madrid and founded in 1984, Etanco employs ten people and generated sales of around four million euros in 2023. Specialised in the distribution of high-end applications for building envelopes in the Iberian market, it completes its offer with added services such as consultancy, design and planning.

Direct advice on site
Etanco's consultancy area is aimed at architects and engineers, as well as installers. It has an engineering and R&D&I department, a technical sales department for advice and sales, a quality department and an environmental department aimed at optimising energy resources. In addition, the company offers direct on-site advice and specialised reports such as wind load calculations, which allow the number of fixings required for each project to be optimised.

Its products include a wide range of screws and fastening systems for metal enclosures, ventilated façades and deck roofs. Also very important are  solar panel fixings, which are available in four different formats for virtually any roof application. Another line, closely related to safety, is fall protection systems, known as lifelines and used mainly during the construction process and maintenance tasks.

Client portfolio
Etanco's product portfolio, together with the added value of the services it provides to its customers, will enrich the offering of the SFS group, which will also benefit from access to its customer base. Its SFS Group Ibérica subsidiary, established more than thirty years ago, has been involved in projects ranging from residential construction to industrial, commercial and large logistics distribution centres.

In addition to construction, the Swiss parent company is opening up its portfolio of solutions to other markets such as electronics, automotive, aeronautics and medicine.
