Shooting in Spain major deployment at FOCUS 2024: Spain is positioned in London as an epicentre for international film shoots

The brand of ICEX-Invest in Spain is organising an exclusive networking evening between Spanish service companies and British producers. A panel with international location managers who have shot big budget titles in Spain will also host the launch of the new edition of the Who is Who - Shooting in Spain 2025-2026 Guide.
Shooting in Spain, the ICEX-Invest in Spain brand to promote the attraction of foreign filming and investment in the media sector to Spain, is once again participating in FOCUS, the professional trade event that covers the entire production process of audiovisual content for film, television, advertising and video games, which is celebrating its tenth edition on 10 and 11 December.
The London forum will be the latest international event in the intense promotional strategy developed by Shooting in Spain throughout 2024. FOCUS will serve as a privileged showcase for the high-impact actions that the brand has organised with the aim of highlighting Spain's incomparable advantages as a destination for international productions among foreign companies.
Exclusive networking evening with British producers
Before the official start of the event, Shooting in Spain, with the support of the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in London, is organising the ‘Shooting in Spain: UK Producers Evening’ on the afternoon of Monday 9 December. A networking activity that will bring together Spanish service companies and studios with British film and television production companies interested in filming in Spain.
The invitation-only event will take place at the headquarters of international consultancy firm Omdia. The three-hour agenda is structured in two parts: the first segment is dedicated to round table discussions moderated by renowned journalists from the industry's specialised media, where they will analyse the challenges that international filming currently poses for British producers, and the solutions that Spain can offer them. This will be followed by networking time to facilitate connections between participating executives and generate opportunities for strategic collaboration.
Presentation of the Who is Who - Shooting in Spain 2025-2026 Guide
FOCUS will also be the venue for the presentation of the new edition of the Who is Who - Shooting in Spain 2025-2026 Guide, a long-awaited update of this directory edited by ICEX-Invest in Spain, which compiles Spanish companies specialising in the provision of services for international shoots.
Vanesa Álvarez, Foreign Direct Investment Projects Director at ICEX-Invest in Spain, will be in charge of presenting the Guide on Tuesday 10th at 12:20pm in the context of the session ‘How to Craft a World Hit in Spain’, where renowned international location managers will share their experience in blockbusters shot in Spain.
The panel, coordinated by Shooting in Spain and part of the official FOCUS conference programme, will include the participation of Alex Gladstone, supervising location manager of ‘3 Body Problem’ (Netflix) and the collaboration of Naomi Liston, renowned supervising location manager with a long track record of productions shot in Spain ranging from ‘Game of Thrones’ (HBO) to the most recent ‘Blade Runner 2099’ (Prime Video). Justin Crosby, founder and host of the TV industry news podcast TellyCast, will moderate the session.
Shooting in Spain will also have a stand in the FOCUS exhibition area, where its team will provide information on opportunities to produce and set up in Spain.
The presence of Shooting in Spain at the aforementioned event is coordinated by ICEX-Invest in Spain, with the support of the Spain Audiovisual Hub of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the Next Generation Funds of the European Commission.
