Flovi brings automated vehicle logistics platform to Spain
The Finnish company has chosen Spain to kick off its European expansion strategy .
Finnish scaleup Flovi has commenced operations in Spain for its vehicle logistics automation platform using artificial intelligence. This is the fourth country where this solution for the smart relocation of vehicles has been launched, following Finland, Sweden and Poland. The company justifies its choice by explaining that it is one of Europe’s largest automotive markets.
Spain thus becomes the first country in Flovi’s new European expansion plan, through which it aims to operate in ten countries by 2028 and establish itself as Europe’s leading vehicle logistics platform. To do that, it secured a five-million-euro investment round at the beginning of this year, led by Nordea and Business Finland.
Needs created by tourism
The platform primarily serves car dealerships, repair garages, vehicle hire companies and leasing firms. According to the company’s figures, the long-term rental fleet in Spain exceeded one million vehicles at the end of 2025; the second-hand car market closed the year with more than 2.2 million vehicles sold, making it one of the most active in Europe; and the car rental industry, driven by tourism, registered more than 216,000 vehicles.
The needs generated by tourism, the company explains, are in fact driving the market to increasingly demand digital solutions that make the management of rental vehicle logistics flows more efficient and automated. Forecasts that Spain will welcome close to 100 million international tourists this year, after breaking its own record in 2024 and 2025, were a key factor in Flovi’s decision to establish itself in our country.
The right moment
The rollout of the platform in Spain will be spearheaded by Enrique García-Comas as Country Manager, bringing more than twenty years of experience in the industry. He is currently building a team of professionals and said, while referring to the new tool, “Ease of use, speed and a seamless service experience are becoming increasingly important in the automotive sector, where just-in-time logistics solutions are at the heart of the industry’s future. That’s why Flovi’s entry into the Spanish market comes at the right time. “We’ve already secured our first customers, which clearly shows that the market is demanding a more sophisticated solution.”
Company’s CEO Aapeli Kallunki added, “The European vehicle logistics market is worth billions. Despite its size, in many areas, such as Spain, it still relies heavily on manual and local processes. “We are building the digital infrastructure that delivers efficiency, transparency and reliability in a market that is still largely undigitised.”
The platform helps its customers manage vehicle transfers more efficiently and transparently. Artificial intelligence brings together data on market demand, route efficiency and journey tracking to transport vehicles faster and more efficiently. Last year, it completed more than 160,000 vehicle transfers and covered almost 35 million kilometres.
