Spain will be the Country of Honour at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Spain is the second country to receive this privilege after India became the official country of honour in 2022. 

The Marché du Film is the most important international professional gathering of the film industry. Organised as part of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival from 16 to 24 May 2023, it brings together 12,500 audiovisual industry professionals in Cannes each year to present around 4,000 films and projects in development in 33 screening spaces.

 

ICEX-Invest in Spain will join the event to present Spain's attractions as an investment destination for the audiovisual industry and as a filming location. To this end, it will present the services offered by the 'Spain Audiovisual Bureau' one-stop shop to deal with queries from both Spanish and foreign companies, and the new tax incentives that place Spain in a very competitive position.

 

To this end, he will be in the Spanish pavilion organised by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment. In addition, as part of the event, it will organise a conference on incentives for shooting in Spain, followed by a networking session to discuss the issues that have aroused most interest.

 

Finally, the "Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe" Plan will be presented, a Spanish government plan, launched in 2022 and one of the pillars of the Digital Spain 2025 agenda, which aims to make Spain the main audiovisual hub in Europe by promoting national audiovisual production and attracting investment and economic activity, as well as strengthening companies in the sector, improving their competitiveness through digitisation and support for talent, reducing the gender gap.
