The event will be held online on 29 September through the Zoom platform. It will be opened by the Director of Financing and Investor Relations of ICEX-Invest in Spain, Alberto Sanz, and will have two sessions: "Innovation strategy and future efforts of WAYRA", by the director of WAYRA Madrid, Paloma CastelIano, and "Digitization and the DX Market in Japan", by the Executive Fellow of NRI, Yasuki Okai. The event will end with a “Pitch by Spain” session presenting three leading Spanish startups in the digital sector to Japanese investors: YBVR, Made of Genes and Smart Protection.

Within the framework of this conference, the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Tokyo and Nomura Research Institute will sign a memorandum of understanding to promote the exchange of technology, knowledge and experiences in the field of innovation. In particular, the collaboration between NRI and the Commercial Office is expected to improve business relations in the Fintech, Smart City, energy, Foodtech and digitization sectors.

Since 2020, both parties have been collaborating punctually to promote meetings between companies. The initial meeting, “FinTech in Spain” on 12 November of 2020, featured conferences from Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), from a recognized DX leader, and presentations from Spanish digital financial security startups.

In the future, they will continue to hold events to present innovative products from Spanish companies and act as a bridge for mutual commercial exchanges.
