Consultancy firm Devoteam buys cybersecurity specialist BeClever

The French company now has 900 employees in Spain after the integration of  50 employees at its new subsidiary

The digital consultancy Devoteam, specialised in technology platforms for companies, has decided to acquire the Spanish company BeClever. This has the dual goal of strengthening its cybersecurity services and increasing its presence in the north of Spain with a stronger presence in the Basque Country, where its new subsidiary comes from. It is thereby heading towards another major goal, defined in its strategic plan, which is to become a leading digital consultancy in Europe in key areas such as cloud, data and cybersecurity, and to achieve an estimated €1.5 billion in revenues by 2024.

Based in Bilbao, BeClever has 50 employees, who will now join the French team to make up a staff of 900 employees in Spain alone. Founded in 2011, the company focuses on the development of cybersecurity solutions in the area of digital identity and access management (IAM). These include access management (AM), privileged account management (PAM) and identity governance and administration (IGA).

High level of technical expertise
One of the aspects that have attracted Devoteam's attention is the high level of technical specialisation. This will allow it to expand the services it already provides in the area of cybersecurity with the aim of becoming one of the main players in this field in the Spanish market. The Spanish company is in addition a leading partner of the world's most important manufacturers in the area of identity and access management. Proof of this are the awards and acknowledgements it has received from its partners, in addition to the many technical certifications that endorse its high level of skills.

In the first phase, the company will present itself as "BeClever Part of Devoteam". When the integration is completed in around a year's time, it will be consolidated within Devoteam, losing its original name. The French company plans to continue hiring new team members in Spain, combining organic growth with new acquisitions, as it has been doing for the 25 years it has been in Spain. The latest of these was Necsia, earlier this year, which served to strengthen its Microsoft services.

Key technology areas
Devoteam Spain CEO Tomás López says. "With this acquisition, our goal is to become stronger in one of the key current and future technology areas and to become one of the leading players in the Spanish market, as is the case with other Devoteam subsidiaries. Thanks to BeClever, we will continue to grow, having great trust in the Spanish market, its potential and the commitment of companies to new technologies."

BeClever founder Aiert Azueta explains, "We firmly believe that integration into a large group with the power and size of Devoteam will provide the necessary momentum to address the growth challenges we face in the immediate future, providing great opportunities in an increasingly competitive and saturated market."
