Deloitte creates artificial intelligence hub in Spain

It is made up of a team of thirty partners and five hundred highly qualified professionals

The consulting firm Deloitte has opened the AI&Data Transformation Hub in Spain, a centre from which it will help companies with comprehensive data lifecycle management and with maximising the benefits that can be obtained from artificial intelligence (AI). Integrated into its global AI network, it addresses a growing need for organisations to adapt to new technologies and continue to make strides in their digital transformation processes.

Thirty partners specialising in this field have joined the new hub, together with more than 500 highly qualified professionals. The team includes experts in different industries and in the various functional areas of the companies, such as finance, regulation, risk, talent, operations and technology. The UK consultancy's goal is to become a comprehensive advisor on AI.

Know-how and experience
The AI&Data Transformation Hub has already started its first projects in sectors like finance, retail, energy and insurance. The three pillars on which Deloitte bases the new structure are: its knowledge to anticipate the most important opportunities and challenges for its clients, its expertise in organisational governance, data quality, talent management and regulatory and ethical compliance and, finally, its centres of competence and strategic partnerships for implementing AI.

The services offered by the new centre are based on three main areas: improving individual productivity within companies, optimising business models by transforming and evolving functions and, finally, identifying new business models through innovation based on the use of data and AI.

Ethical use
These services can be applied in the different phases of AI integration: strategy, implementation and optimisation. The ethical use of this technology, as well as its monitoring and control, is also encouraged. In line with this, Deloitte has been selected by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, together with OdiseIA, to create a seal that will certify organisations whose AI algorithms have been implemented in an ethical, robust and non-discriminatory manner.

The partner in charge of the AI&Data Transformation Hub, Javier Echániz, explains that AI “is a powerful tool when it comes to boosting efficiency, innovation and competitiveness in companies. However, the integration of these technologies into company processes requires investments in areas like technology and human capital, with training and adaptation of the workforce being essential.” As a result, he explains that “the creation and implementation of this team by Deloitte responds to the need for organisations to face and anticipate these future challenges”.

To respond to these challenges generated by business transformation, especially in the face of the strong irruption of AI in the business world, Echániz believes that his company must “develop innovative initiatives and tailor-made solutions to continue providing value to our customers and help them with their most complex challenges”.
