Elis, a company specialising in the rental and maintenance of workwear and textile equipment, recently opened a new industrial laundry plant for cleanrooms in Granollers (Barcelona). The French company has invested six million euros in these facilities, which it has equipped with state-of-the-art technology and with the dual goal of improving the quality of its services and, at the same time, doubling its production capacity.

The decision to establish an industrial laundry specifically for workwear used in cleanrooms is due to the specific needs of these spaces. These are controlled environments with low levels of pollution. These types of facilities are very important in industries including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, electronics and foodstuffs.

Strict cleaning and sterilisation standards
The plant that Elis has commissioned is specifically designed to meet the strictest cleaning and sterilisation standards required by these industries. This way, it can maintain conditions for use of linen in cleanrooms, where particle control and hygiene are critical to ensure the quality and safety of the products treated in them.

The new plant is equipped with an automated textile management system and has two separate rooms, one for garments used in ISO 5 rooms and the other for ISO 7 rooms, a classification that determines the number and size of particles allowed inside. With this differentiation, the company provides an efficient and high-precision process for cleaning and disinfecting garments, responding to the requirements of each industry and customer.

Technological progress
The technological advances incorporated in the equipment at the new plant optimise performance and, at the same time, guarantee compliance with all safety and quality regulations.

The business unit manager of Elis Cleanroom Granollers, José Cabrera, is very proud of the new plant, "A facility that represents the future of industrial laundry for cleanrooms", and explained, "This investment enables us to not only meet the current needs of our customers, but also to prepare for future demands and to ensure a high quality and reliable service."
