Jinko invests 135 million in major solar PV project in Andalusia

It will add 175 MWp to the 194 megawatts it has already developed in Spain, a key market for its foreign business.
Jinko Power has begun construction work on the Antequera project, located in the town of the same name in Malaga. This solar PV park will have an installed capacity of 175 MWp, and is scheduled to start commercial operations in September 2025. Thereafter, it expects to generate around 370 GWh of clean electricity per year.
As the company explained during the groundbreaking ceremony, the project will consist of four plants, each with 43.75 MWp of capacity covering 329 hectares. The Chinese company has invested 135 million euros in this operation, which will generate between 40 and 50 direct jobs when it begins its operational phase.
Sales agreement
As part of its strategy, Jinko concluded an agreement in August to sell this project to Chinese power producer Huadian Investments. Jinko has been investing heavily in the overseas energy generation market for ten years. It is currently present in 15 countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Spain is one of the key markets for the company's foreign business. To date, it has developed and invested in 194 megawatts of solar PV projects in the country. The Antequera project adds another 175 megawatts to its portfolio, making it a key solar PV project in Spain.
Benchmark project
The Governor of Jiangxi Province, Ye Jianchun, who was present at the ceremony, described the future plant as a benchmark project and expects Jinko Technology, as a service and clean energy provider, to “make full use of its technological and management advantages and build and operate solar PV plant projects with high standards and high efficiency”.
Jinko Power's Vice President of International Business Development and Capital Operations, Rui Wei, is in turn confident in the company's project development capability and EPC management expertise “to fully promote the efficient implementation of the Antequera project. We also hope to use this cooperation as an opportunity to deepen and cultivate more opportunities for cooperation in the future and contribute to promoting Spain's green and low-carbon transformation.”
