Lactalis to invest €200 million by 2030
These funds will be used to strengthen industrial competitiveness, accelerate digital transformation, encourage innovation, and promote the energy transition.
Lactalis España has used the presentation of its 2025 corporate social responsibility report as an opportunity to take stock of its performance in Spain and announce an investment plan for the 2026-2030 period. The French company plans to invest €200 million to modernise its plants, strengthen industrial competitiveness, accelerate digital transformation, encourage innovation, and promote the energy transition.
David Saliot, CEO of Lactalis Spain and Portugal, explained, “Our growth only makes sense if it creates value for people, for the farming sector, for local areas and for society. This long-term vision, rooted in our local presence, close relationships with our stakeholders and responsible management, drives us to continue investing, innovating and contributing to the country’s economic and social development.”
Industrial investments
Industrial activity continues to be Lactalis’s main contribution to the Spanish economy. Last year, the agri-food company allocated €28.1 million to industrial investment, 71.9% of which was concentrated in towns with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants. The company has eight industrial sites across the country.
In 2025, the two Galician sites received a total of €6.24 million in investments for their modernisation, with the Granada site receiving €5.33 million, €6.21 million went to the two Catalan sites, €580,000 was allocated to the two Castile and León sites, and €7.29 million went to Castilla-La Mancha.
Employment generation
With a track record in Spain spanning more than 40 years, Lactalis remains committed to a robust industrial model, close ties with the primary sector and a strong regional presence. A feature of its investments in innovation is its collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC): a pioneering project to decarbonise livestock farms while optimising resources and improving efficiency.
Lactalis España directly employs 2,679 people at present, more than 90% of whom are on permanent contracts. Its internal promotion policy means that one in every two vacancies can be filled by in-house talent. According to its figures, 87% of its employees say they want to continue working for the company. And in terms of equality, the representation of women in leadership positions has increased by 35% over the past three years, with the aim of reaching 40% by 2033.
