MasOrange creates Spanish cybersecurity company
Orange Cyberdefense España launched with 100 highly qualified employees and offices in Madrid and Barcelona.
Telecommunications operator MasOrange and French cybersecurity company Orange Cyberdefense have launched Orange Cyberdefense España, with the aim of making it a benchmark in advanced digital security for businesses, public authorities and private customers in Spain. In its initial phase, the new company has offices in Madrid and Barcelona and a team of 100 cybersecurity experts, with plans to expand it in the future.
Alongside its two offices, Orange Cyberdefense España will have a security centre (CyberSOC) in Spain, enabling it to stay close to its customers and ensure continuous monitoring and a rapid response to digital incidents. This centre, called DynamicSOC, will be designed to offer modern, advanced and scalable protection, tailored to the real needs of every organisation, regardless of its size.
Advanced threat detection
DynamicSOC stands out for its local management, either on the customer’s own premises or in an Orange-managed environment, depending on each customer’s specific needs. Its MDR (managed detection and response) model provides advanced threat detection and rapid response to security incidents. Its modular approach does in addition allow features to be added or removed, enabling a gradual evolution tailored to the organisation’s security maturity.
Orange Cyberdefense España’s security centre will also feature independent technology compatible with the tools and technologies already in place in the customer’s infrastructure. In day-to-day operations, the company retains control of its tools and data within a co-management model that gives it access to Orange’s expert support.
Computer emergency response team
The company, which describes Spain as one of Europe’s most dynamic and demanding markets, will draw on the experience of Orange Cyberdefense, the continent’s first private CERT (computer emergency response team), which has 36 threat detection centres in 23 countries.
The combination of Orange Cyberdefense’s expertise with modern infrastructure, advanced technology and MasOrange’s digital capabilities represents a competitive advantage for reaching companies and public authorities. Before the end of this year, it also aims to reach the residential market. In its work, the new firm also plans to collaborate with other companies in Spain’s digital ecosystem.
Business continuity challenges
For MasOrange Chief Operating Officer, Germán López, cybersecurity “is no longer a technology issue, but a business and operational continuity challenge. With Orange Cyberdefense España, we are responding to this reality, bringing the Spanish market a unique advanced digital security proposition, underpinned by the experience of a European leader and by our ability to support businesses, public authorities and private customers across the country.”
Orange Cyberdefense CEO Hugues Foulon, meanwhile, describes a context of permanent digital warfare in which “cybersecurity must be placed at the heart of every strategy. Cybersecurity is no longer just a necessary expense, but a pillar that transforms organisations and our economic resilience.”
