International film shoots in Spain analysed by their managers
Within the framework of the event, considered the most important film market in the world, Shooting in Spain is the protagonist of one of the panels that make up the official conference programme: under the title "How to craft a world hit in Spain", it will show the main reasons and key services that make Spain one of the most sought-after filming destinations in the world. In particular, it will analyse the success stories of blockbusters such as "In the Grey" (directed by the famous British filmmaker Guy Ritchie) and "The Assessment" (by the French director and screenwriter Fleur Fortuné), which were supported by Spanish service companies.
The panel, moderated by ICEX-Invest in Spain Executive Director Elisa García Grande, will feature co-producers Stephen Wooley from Number 9 Films (UK) and Jonas Katzenstein from augenschein Filmproduktion (Germany), explaining why they decided to film "The Assessment", a science fiction thriller starring Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Olsen, in Tenerife. They will be accompanied by Alejandro Álamo, producer of Volcano Films, and responsible for assisting them during their stay in the Canary Islands. Peter Welter will explain the factors that make a production company choose to shoot in Spain again, as in the case of Fresco Film's second collaboration with Guy Ritchie for his latest feature film "In the Grey", which also obtained the seal of sustainable production issued by the Tenerife Film Commission.
Following the conference, which will take place on Friday 17th from 15:00 to 16:00 in The Viewpoint room (Riviera building), Shooting in Spain is organising a networking cocktail on the terrace of the Cinema from Spain pavilion (stand A3-A5 in the Riviera building). All panel attendees are invited to participate and will have access to the panellists, as well as to other Spanish companies present at the event, which aims to promote professional relations between the participating companies.
In addition, and with the aim of promoting its presence among the more than 14,000 registered professionals, Shooting in Spain will also have its own space in the Cinema from Spain pavilion, where its team will provide information about the services and advantages offered by Spain as a destination for audiovisual production, as well as about the Spain Audiovisual Bureau, the centralised information point that offers assistance to any company, national or foreign, interested in developing audiovisual initiatives in Spain.
Shooting in Spain's presence at this event is coordinated by ICEX-Invest in Spain, with the support of the Spain Audiovisual Hub at the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the Next Generation EU Funds.
