Shooting in Spain will carry out various activities to publicise its support services for foreign companies intending to shoot in Spain and to promote collaboration between international and local production companies attending the event, which is expected to bring together almost a thousand audiovisual industry professionals from both Europe and the Americas.
Participation at Conecta THINK TANK and matchmaking breakfast
Shooting in Spain will actively participate in the fifth edition of the Conecta THINK TANK discussion forum, in the preamble of which the Spain Audiovisual Bureau will be presented to an audience of senior international executives representing leading companies in the production and broadcasting of content for American and European tv channels and platforms. Shooting in Spain's spokespersons will moderate one of the round table discussions at this meeting, which will take place on Tuesday 18th at the unique Puy du Fou España park, to draw the main conclusions about the present and future of the international television sector and the new trends in the industry.
The following morning, Shooting in Spain will inaugurate the first official day of Conecta F&E by collaborating in the organisation of the “ICEX-Invest in Spain Networking Breakfast”, a matchmaking breakfast that will bring together international prodcos interested in filming in Spain and local service production companies specialising in providing support to foreign feature films and tv shows that choose Spain as a filming destination. The event, which will be held from 9am to 10:30am and is by invitation only, aims to promote professional relations and offer a unique opportunity to generate synergies and new business opportunities.
A dedicated panel about the Spanish incentives
Also on the morning of Wednesday 19, Shooting in Spain will host the panel “Unravelling Spanish tax incentive”, which will address crucial issues for audiovisual productions such as tax incentives and tax breaks. The session will start at 11am in room #1 with a welcome by Luis Cueto, advisory member of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure at the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, who will also give a brief introduction to the Spain Audiovisual Hub as a centralised source of information on the Spanish audiovisual industry.
Next, the executive director of ICEX-Invest in Spain, Elisa Garcia Grande, will moderate a discussion with the participation of Yousaf Bokhari, executive producer of Palma Pictures, a renowned Spanish service production company; and Helena Suarez, partner in the areas of IP and audiovisual law at Ecija. Both will provide essential information for industry professionals seeking to maximise their investments and take full advantage of Spanish tax benefits.
ICEX-Invest in Spain will also have its own booth in the exhibition area of the Palacio de Congresos El Greco, the main venue for Conecta F&E for the third consecutive year, where its team will provide information on the services and advantages offered by Spain as a destination for audiovisual productions. It will also publicise the fundamental role of the Spain Audiovisual Bureau as a one-stop shop for all enquiries about the audiovisual industry, both for Spanish companies wishing to internationalise and for foreign companies interested in filming or opening their headquarters in Spain.
The presence of Invest in Spain at this event is coordinated by ICEX, with the support of the Spain Audiovisual Hub of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the Next Generation Funds of the European Commission.
