In May 2022, the VI call for the Rising UP in Spain program was opened, whose main novelty was the inclusion of the figure of local partners. Any company, corporation, or technology center in Spain could register as a local partner of the program to collaborate with a foreign startup. Thanks to this collaboration, the local partner in Spain found technological solutions adapted to their business, and the foreign company found it easier to establish and consolidate in the country.
220 applications were received from startups from more than 50 countries. Europe (30%) and Latin America (30%) accounted for more than half of the applications. By country, Morocco led the number of applications (30), followed by the USA (15), Brazil (14), the United Kingdom (8), and India (8).
