The executive director of ICEX-Invest in Spain, Elisa García Grande, will present and moderate the table ' The role of sovereign wealth funds as financial actors in the global economy', in which Javier Capapé, director of the Sovereign Wealth Research of the Center for the Governance of Change-Instituto de Empresa, Duncan Bonfield, Executive Director of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) and Isabelle Bébéar, Director of International and European Affairs at Bpifrance will participate.

The discussion panel will address the relevance of SWFs in the current global context and new international investment trends, underlining SWFs´ stabilizing role thanks to the implementation of long-term investment strategies.

A special attention will be given to the current geopolitical context, including the identification of key investment sectors, like infrastructures, telecommunications, technology associated with certain niches that require long-term capital such as data centres or cryptocurrencies; and everything related to renewable energies and mobility.

Under this context, Spain can play a relevant role by attracting investments from SWFs with a twofold perspective: on one hand, fostering the growth and globalization of Spanish companies and their subsidiaries abroad, and, on the other, mobilizing private capital to accelerate energy transition.
