Anticimex continues growing in Spain through its acquisitions

The Swedish multinational has invested ten million euros in the purchase of six companies since 2017

The Swedish multinational Anticimex, specialized in pest control services and environmental hygiene, has decided to reinforce its presence in the whole of the Spanish territory. To this end, in 2017 it acquired five companies in the sector, and the sixth in February, with a total investment of ten million euros.

Anticimex acquired Sertra, in the province of Cadiz, in 2017; Biocon and Ambisan in Madrid; the pest division in the company Extermin in La Mancha; and Desinfecciones Benidorm in the province of Alicante. So far this year it has added Plagastop in Aragon to this list to continue its expansion and bring capillarity to its network.

After five years of activity in Spain, and thanks to these new additions, the company now has over 450 employees located in its 21 delegations that serve over 20,000 clients on the Spanish mainland and in the Balearic and Canary Islands. In 2017, the group invoiced 25.5 million euros in Spain, up 14% from the previous year.

Josep Valls, general manager of Anticimex in Spain, explains its strategy: "The incorporation of new companies, combined with our organic growth, helps us reinforce our presence at the national level. Our aim is to transform the pest control sector in Spain through a technology-based service that allows us to act in a proactive way by anticipating problems”.

Capillarity of the network
The purchase of Plagastop, which in 2017 had a turnover of 700,000 euros, reinforces Anticimex's presence in Aragon, where it will now have its own delegation. Before the end of last year it had gained a large portfolio of clients in Cadiz and Seville with its acquisition of Sertra, which also represented the opening of Anticimex's first delegation in the province of Cadiz. The other companies acquired in 2017 have led to new delegations in Madrid, Toledo and Alicante, in addition to clients all over the country.

The Swedish company is characterized by its innovative, technological and environmentally-friendly approach to pest control. According to Valls: "Our Smart services are capable of digitally monitoring pest activity in real-time, and are constantly compiling data and generating periodic reports to guarantee absolute control and allow us to act quickly and accurately, and all without the use of biocides".
