ICEX-Invest in Spain launches the third edition of Rising Startup Spain

Program for foreign entrepreneurs in Spain

June 6 marks the start of the period for submitting applications for the new call for Rising Startup Spain, ICEX-Invest in Spain's program to encourage innovative projects developed by foreigners or non-resident Spaniards who plan to set up a company in Spain or who have done so within the last year.

Rising Startup Spain is the first official program designed to attract international talent and the innovative business models that contribute to enriching the Spanish entrepreneurial fabric. Another of its aims is to position Spain as one of the main technology and innovation hubs in Europe.

Since it was launched in 2016, the two editions of Rising Startup Spain so far have been extremely successful in terms of both the number of foreign entrepreneurs who applied for the program and the quality of its projects. Specifically, 283 entrepreneurs from 57 countries applied for the 2017 edition, of whom 15 were awarded financial aid.

In this third call recently opened, the program offers the following services: streamlining the visa process; free workspace in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona; personalized advice adapted to the needs of the project; financial aid of 10,000 euros per company; visibility in specialized media to raise their profile in Spain; and attendance at events taking place in Spain and meetings with Spanish multinationals.
