Companies and research centers will be able to test their products in a real environment with the assistance of the Madrid City Council

The telephone company Vodafone, in collaboration with Huawei, has announced the installation of one of the first 5G nodes in the world in Madrid. It will be located in La Nave, a space in which the City Council of Madrid provides people and businesses with the latest tools for innovation.

Vodafone stresses the opportunity this deployment represents for companies and research centers, as the node will be available for innovators who want to test or explore their technologies in a real 5G environment where they can work on their prototypes.

Disruptive technologies
The announcement was made by Luis Cueto, the general coordinator at the City Council of Madrid, and the head of Corporate Segment and Innovation at Vodafone, Patricia Santoni, during several days of activities focused on 5G and its impact on the most disruptive technologies, such as drones, gaming, virtual reality and augmented reality.

Vodafone took advantage of the event to show the work being developed by 12 companies to improve their solutions with the use of 5G.
