Nautal completes its third round of investment

It receives funding of €2.2 million, mainly from Czech and Polish funds

The online pleasure boat rental platform Nautal, whose head office is in Barcelona, has closed its third round of investment with an injection of €2.2 million, according to website of the industry association Clúster Marítimo Español. This is the largest injection of capital achieved so far by the company, a pioneer in Spain in this activity. The funds will allow it to open up new markets and consolidate its position in Europe, the United States and the Caribbean, where it already has a presence.

Nautal plans to exceed €10 million in turnover this year, doubling the figure for 2017. This may be one of the reasons why a number of funds have decided to support the company now. As well as several investors who already participated in previous rounds, the third round included venture capital funds such as the Czech Enern, the Polish Market One Capital and the Decame Group.

More than 56 countries
Currently Nautal operates in more than 56 countries, and its platform, which is available in ten languages, has more than 1,700,000 visitors per year. Those interested can find all kinds of vessels for rent, from inflatables to sailing vessels, catamarans and large yachts.

The CEO of Nautal, Octavi Uyá, explained: "Continuing our international expansion and consolidating our leadership in those areas where we are already present is our goal with this new round of investment."

Michal Skrzynski, of Market One Capital, referred to Nautal as "a visionary company that committed itself to the nautical charter market at the right time; and with a successful management has won a position as a benchmark in the mediation boat rentals online."
