NL Holding acquires Instituto de Medicina Reproductiva

This year, the German group will invest another €200 million in new acquisitions, thanks to the backing of Oaktree Capital

NL Holding, a German group specialized in health care services, has recently acquired Instituto de Medicina Reproductiva (Imer), Europe's leader in egg donation. With headquarters in Valencia, its facilities there and in Dénia are the most modern in the Iberian peninsula for genetic counseling and standard assisted reproduction services.

Imer also has facilities in Barcelona and is one of the main providers for egg donation in assisted reproduction centers in Italy. Together with this acquisition, NL Holding has announced the expansion of its health facility portfolio with the purchase of the Swiss group ProCrea and the Italian Archimed Group.

To assume these operations, NL Holding has welcomed the Oaktree Capital Management investment group as part of its capital. “The entry of Oaktree Capital Management, one of the world's largest investment groups, enables NL Holding to move forward in its strategy of acquiring health clinics specialized in reproduction in Europe and abroad”, explains Miroslaw Herden, CEO and Development Manager at NL Holding. “Our strategic goal is to build a European network of modern clinics specialized in assisted reproduction, genetics and laboratories, and to offer complementary services in out-patient facilities”.

Upcoming operations
This year, NL Holding plans to invest another €200 million in new acquisitions, and its main target will continue to be assisted reproduction and fertility clinics in Europe and abroad that offer innovative medical care and enable the creation of synergies across its expanding portfolio.

“We wish to continue consolidating all of these activities. In doing so, we focus not only on acquiring facilities, but also on the quality of services offered and the resulting synergies”, explains Josef Broz, Head of the Advisory Board of NL Holding.
