According to EFE, the construction of the building and the installation of the equipment will take two years and provide work for over 300 people. The start-up and qualification of the new plant will take an additional year and require the hire of at least 30 engineers and technicians.

The project consists of the construction of a three-story building for aseptic production areas and technical zones, with equipment for manufacturing injectable medications with a high degree of automation and based on industry 4.0 standards. This will give the factory more capacity to produce new medications in the future, in addition to continuing with the current lines.

The plant in San Sebastián de los Reyes, which began operating in the 1960s and in which Pfizer has already invested around 100 million euros, will supply medicine to over 17,000 patients around the world.

95% of the total output of this factory in Madrid is exported to more than 70 countries.
